Lich + Tusk

Why this works

Trying to secure a kill in lane often feels like both heroes are doing their own thing. Tusk wants to use Snowball to get on top of a target, but Lich’s main follow-up is another slow and some moderate damage from Frost Blast. There isn't a hard lockdown to guarantee Tusk can get all his Tag Team hits off. While Lich's Frost Shield is a solid defensive buff for a Tusk that dives in, it doesn't enable the aggression in the first place. Both heroes bring slows, but this overlap can feel redundant instead of complementary.

Across the map, this dynamic continues. Tusk looks for pickoffs with his aggressive initiations, while Lich prefers to stay further back and control fights over time. A great Chain Frost from Lich can be set up by a clever Ice Shards, but this is a difficult and unreliable sequence to execute under pressure. More often, they fight on separate terms: Tusk dives a key target, and Lich supports the rest of the team from a safe distance. The pairing isn't actively bad, but their kits don't build on each other to create truly powerful moments.
