Oracle + Zeus

Why this works

Trying to coordinate a burst kill can be awkward for this pair. If Oracle uses Purifying Flames on an enemy for its initial damage, the strong healing that follows can easily undo Zeus’s magical burst unless Oracle immediately purges it himself. Zeus has no way to remove the heal, so poor timing can save the enemy. On the other hand, Oracle is one of the best heroes for keeping a fragile, high-priority target like Zeus alive. A well-timed False Promise allows Zeus to continue casting spells through what would otherwise be lethal damage, and Fate's Edict can completely shut down an enemy's attempt to magic-burst him.

This lane and partnership often succeeds when Oracle plays a purely defensive role. In fights, he can focus his entire kit on saving Zeus from assassins and divers, which allows Zeus to safely deal huge area damage from the back lines. The combo becomes less reliable when they try to get aggressive together. A gank can easily fail if the target gets away with a sliver of health thanks to the heal from Purifying Flames. Ultimately, their effectiveness together hinges on whether Oracle can babysit Zeus well enough to overcome their lack of offensive synergy.
