Why this works

Thinking about the perfect Winter's Curse setup for Rubick to exploit is often a trap. In reality, enemies caught by the ultimate are disabled and unable to cast the very spells Rubick is looking to steal. He's left waiting for a good opportunity that may never come, while Winter Wyvern has already used her biggest cooldown. Both heroes also tend to play from the same backline position, offering a lot of reactive saves and control but very little proactive initiation. This can create a draft that feels passive and lacks a clear way to start a fight on your own terms.

This lane pairing is often fragile early on and can be bullied by more aggressive duos. Mid-game fights become heavily reliant on the enemy making a mistake. While a good Curse from Winter Wyvern can turn a gank around, the duo's overall impact hinges on what Rubick has managed to steal. If the enemy team's spells are mediocre or they play cautiously around Spell Steal, Rubick's contribution feels limited. The responsibility then falls entirely on your other three heroes to create space, initiate fights, and deal most of the damage.
