Rubick + Zeus

Why this works

Focusing a single target with a barrage of spells is the main plan. Zeus offers a constant stream of magical damage across the entire map, and Rubick can add to that pressure with his own Fade Bolt. The primary setup is Rubick’s Telekinesis, holding an enemy in place long enough for Zeus to land his own spells. However, beyond that single-target lift, their coordination isn't built-in. Rubick's ultimate value is always dependent on the enemy heroes, so the power of their combined spellcasting can change dramatically from one game to the next.

This pairing often results in a glass cannon strategy. Early on, their combined burst can control the tempo and pick off isolated heroes. The issue is that both heroes are prime targets and susceptible to the same counters. An enemy team with good gap-close or spell immunity items can render both Zeus and Rubick ineffective at the same time. This makes their draft very dependent on snowballing through the mid-game, before the enemy has a chance to build the items that shut down their entire game plan.
