How Timbersaw and Tusk perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Timbersaw and Tusk win 43.92% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 11,075 matches.
Pairing up two aggressive front-liners seems like a straightforward way to run at the enemy, but Tusk and Timbersaw often step on each other's toes. The core problem is that both heroes want to occupy the same space and set the tempo in a fight. Timbersaw needs to be in the middle of everything, building up Reactive Armor and finding angles for his spells. A well-intentioned Snowball save from Tusk can pull Timbersaw out of a position he fought hard to get into. Their damage types also don't align well; Tusk's physical bonuses from Tag Team offer little to Timbersaw's pure and magical output, creating an awkward and inefficient offensive partnership.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
