Spectre + Witch Doctor

Why this works

Catching Witch Doctor out of position feels like the right play, but it's often a trap with Spectre on his team. The moment a fight starts, Spectre can use Haunt to instantly join and create a copy on every enemy hero. This chaos is perfect for Witch Doctor, who can land a Paralyzing Cask and Maledict on the isolated target. Spectre's constant damage from herself and her illusion rapidly builds up the Maledict curse, leading to a massive burst of damage when it ends. A full combo from these two can delete almost any hero before they can react.

This dynamic puts the enemy team in a bind from the mid-game onward. If they spread out to farm, the Spectre and Witch Doctor duo can pick off anyone, anywhere. If they group up for safety, they set themselves up for a devastating Death Ward. The main counter-play is to burst the Witch Doctor before he can cast his spells or to have enough lockdown to cancel his ultimate. Otherwise, the enemy is forced to play defensively, giving Spectre all the space she needs to farm and eventually carry the game on her own.
