Tusk + Void Spirit

Why this works

Setting up a gank with this pair can feel a little redundant. Tusk can use Snowball to deliver Void Spirit into a fight, but Void Spirit is already one of the most mobile heroes in the game with Astral Step. The bigger issue can be Ice Shards, which, if not placed perfectly, can easily block Void Spirit's pathing or prevent a chase. While Tusk’s lockdown from Walrus PUNCH! is welcome, the setup isn’t always clean. Both heroes bring burst and initiation, but they don't necessarily amplify each other in a special way; it's more like they're both trying to do a similar job at the same time.

Across the game, this means their success often hinges on winning the early-to-mid game with pickoffs. If Tusk and Void Spirit can't secure a lead during their shared power spike, their combined impact starts to fade. They don't offer much in the way of sustained damage, wave clear, or strong teamfight control for defending high ground. Void Spirit often prefers a setup hero with a simpler, longer-duration disable, and the physical damage amp from Tag Team is a bit awkward for his primarily magical burst. It works, but it isn't a natural fit.
