Abaddon vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Trying to run down a hero with Open Wounds can be frustrating when Aphotic Shield simply removes the slow. Abaddon's entire kit is built to survive or save an ally from the kind of single-target burst that Lifestealer relies on during Rage. If Lifestealer fully commits on a target, Borrowed Time can turn the attempt completely around. On the other hand, Lifestealer can activate Rage to become immune to Curse of Avernus and Mist Coil, letting him ignore Abaddon and walk directly to a more fragile hero.

This dynamic creates a constant mind game. Lifestealer often has to wait for Abaddon to use his spells on someone else before he can safely commit to a kill. Abaddon is forced to play cautiously, holding his ultimate for the moment Lifestealer goes in. The fight then becomes about which player can bait out the other's key cooldowns more effectively. Success for either hero depends more on their own positioning and decision-making than on any inherent advantage in the matchup itself.
