Abaddon vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Trying to control a fight with Static Link feels frustrating against Abaddon. Razor wants to drain a key hero's damage, but Aphotic Shield is a perfect tool to save that person, dispelling slows and letting them reposition to break the tether. This forces Razor into a difficult choice: either try to burn through the shield and the target's health bar anyway, or switch targets. Focusing Abaddon himself is also a poor option, as his Borrowed Time ultimate will activate and heal him through most of Razor's sustained damage, wasting the Static Link entirely.

This tension defines the matchup from the mid-game onward. Earlier on, Razor can dominate a lane against Abaddon by draining his damage and making it impossible for him to contest creeps. But once teams group up, the game becomes about cooldowns. A successful fight for Razor involves catching a hero away from Abaddon or baiting out the Aphotic Shield first. For Abaddon's team, it’s about sticking together, using his saves to negate Razor's initiation, and then turning the fight once the link is broken or on a poor target. The outcome often swings based on single spell casts.
