Abaddon vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can burst down Abaddon with spells is a common trap. Zeus deals a ton of magic damage, but Abaddon's whole kit is built to turn that damage into an advantage. Aphotic Shield soaks up a key nuke and can dispel slows or stuns that Zeus might rely on his teammates for. If you do manage to get Abaddon low, his ultimate, Borrowed Time, triggers automatically, healing him for all the damage he takes while it's active. A poorly timed Thundergod's Wrath can end up healing Abaddon more than it hurts him.

This creates a stalemate where neither hero really wants to focus the other. In teamfights, Zeus will try to find a target that Abaddon can't shield in time. In response, Abaddon can play very aggressively, running at the back lines knowing that Zeus is reluctant to waste his spells on him. The fight often comes down to whether Zeus can successfully burst a different key hero before Abaddon can react with a shield or his ultimate. The outcome depends heavily on the positioning and awareness of both players.
