Ancient Apparition vs Beastmaster

How this matchup plays

Trying to survive a teamfight as Beastmaster gets very difficult against Ancient Apparition. Beastmaster's whole plan revolves around being a durable frontline hero, using summons and sustain from items or auras to wear down the enemy. Ancient Apparition's Ice Blast is a direct counter to this entire strategy. By completely shutting off all healing and regeneration, it leaves Beastmaster surprisingly fragile once he commits to a fight. He's built to take damage and heal it back, and when that's taken away, he falls apart much faster than you'd expect.

A typical mid-game initiation with Primal Roar can become a suicide mission. As soon as the Ice Blast projectile lands on Beastmaster, his team can't save him and he can't sustain himself. His only real answer is to get a Black King Bar and try to time it before the debuff hits, which is a difficult ask. Otherwise, the Beastmaster player is forced into a passive game of tracking a global cooldown, only able to make aggressive moves when he knows Ice Blast isn't available.
