Ancient Apparition vs Razor

Trying to burst down a durable Razor often fails because he can sustain himself through fights with lifesteal or regeneration. Ancient Apparition’s Ice Blast completely negates that plan. Once Razor is hit by the ultimate, any form of healing is shut off, making him surprisingly vulnerable to focused fire. This turns his usual tankiness into a liability, as he can no longer outlast opponents while his Static Link drains their damage. Even Cold Feet can be a problem; while Razor is fast, any follow-up slow from a teammate can be enough to root him in place for the stun.

This dynamic shapes the whole mid-game. Fights often revolve around whether Ancient Apparition can land a good Ice Blast on Razor, forcing him to either play defensively or risk shattering. A smart Razor player anticipates this and builds items like a Black King Bar to block the spell, or focuses on flanking to eliminate the fragile support first. The advantage isn't overwhelming because Razor can still run at and kill Ancient Apparition very quickly if he gets the chance. It comes down to which hero’s team can better enable their game plan.
