Ancient Apparition vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Thinking this is a simple trade of damage-over-time spells is a trap. The core of the problem for Venomancer is that he excels at creating long, messy teamfights where his poisons slowly drain enemies. Teams fighting against that slow damage lean heavily on sustain from items and abilities to reset and survive. Ancient Apparition's Ice Blast completely nullifies all of that healing and regeneration for the enemy team. This means Venomancer creates the exact drawn-out fight where his own team is most vulnerable to being shattered by Ice Blast, as they have no way to recover from poke damage while his poisons are ticking away on everyone.

The result is that from the mid-game onward, Venomancer’s signature playstyle backfires. He’ll land a big Poison Nova, setting the stage for a war of attrition his team is built to win. But a single responding Ice Blast from Ancient Apparition flips the script. Now Veno's allies are the ones who can't heal through the incoming damage, and the slow burn from Veno's own spells on AA's team becomes irrelevant. Veno’s side is forced into a situation where they must either win the fight instantly or not take it at all, which runs opposite to his entire design.
