Anti-Mage vs Enigma

How this matchup plays

The core of this matchup is a duel between two game-winning abilities. Enigma's whole plan revolves around landing Black Hole on a key target, and a slippery Anti-Mage is a prime candidate. If it lands, AM is almost certainly dead. Anti-Mage, however, is built to play around this exact threat. His Blink allows him to dodge the initiation if he's paying attention, and Mana Void can instantly delete Enigma for using his expensive ultimate. It often comes down to which hero gets the jump on the other first.

This dynamic forces a specific playstyle from both sides. Enigma and his team must patiently set up vision and wait for Anti-Mage to show himself carelessly. The AM player knows this and will split the map, applying pressure and trying to force Enigma to use Black Hole defensively to stop a push. If Anti-Mage can bait out the ultimate and survive, his team gains a massive window to fight or take objectives while Enigma's biggest spell is on cooldown.
