Anti-Mage vs Gyrocopter

How this matchup plays

Farming the map becomes a one-sided affair for Anti-Mage. Gyrocopter relies on a mix of physical and magic damage to fight and flash-farm, but his key spells like Rocket Barrage and Call Down are heavily mitigated by Counterspell. This makes it impossible for him to threaten a farming Anti-Mage. Later on, the tables turn completely. Anti-Mage can Blink directly onto Gyrocopter, who has no innate escape, and quickly burn his small mana pool with Mana Break. This makes Gyrocopter an ideal target, turning his own spell usage into a direct weakness.

The game effectively becomes a race against the clock for Gyrocopter's team. They must establish an overwhelming lead before Anti-Mage acquires his core items. If they can't, Anti-Mage dictates the entire pace of the mid and late game by split-pushing safely. Gyrocopter is forced to huddle with his team for protection, slowing his own economy down. Inevitably, a teamfight breaks out and Anti-Mage blinks into the back lines, deletes Gyrocopter from the fight, and usually secures the kill with a punishing Mana Void.
