Anti-Mage vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Fighting a lone target is how Anti-Mage wants to play, but Spectre's Haunt makes that impossible. The illusions find him anywhere on the map and will follow him through a Blink, making it very difficult for him to escape. Because he is usually split-pushing and alone, every illusion will also apply Desolate, shredding him with pure damage. He wants to pick his fights and be isolated with one enemy; Spectre completely turns this strategy against him by ensuring he's never truly alone and can't control who he fights.

This creates a serious timer for the Anti-Mage player. He farms faster early and has to use that advantage to create massive pressure with his team, aiming to end the game before Spectre gets her key items. If he can't force a win during his mid-game power spike, the game becomes extremely difficult. Spectre is durable enough to survive his initial burst, and once the fight extends, her damage output and global presence with Haunt simply overwhelm him. Anti-Mage can't split push safely, and he can't win a head-on fight against her in the late game.
