Axe vs Huskar

How this matchup plays

Shutting down a Huskar's typical map takeover is a lot easier with an Axe on your team. Huskar relies on getting low on health to dish out damage, but that's exactly what Axe wants to see. Berserker's Call forces Huskar to attack, and his high attack speed from Berserker's Blood means a ton of Counter Helix spins. Since the spin's damage is pure, it cuts right through the magic resistance Huskar gets from being low. Once his health drops, Culling Blade provides a clean, guaranteed kill that ignores his passive defenses, completely dismantling his fighting style.

The whole game revolves around Axe finding his Blink Dagger. Before that, Huskar might find some space, but he has to be careful. After Axe has his blink, Huskar can't safely frontline or take objectives like Roshan. He is forced into buying items like Black King Bar or Halberd much earlier than he'd like, slowing his own damage progression. Axe's job becomes finding Huskar before a teamfight really starts, often from the fog, and eliminating him with the Call combo before he can react. If Huskar is removed, his team usually crumbles.
