Axe vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Farming the map becomes difficult for Axe's team because his main tool for creating pressure is turned against him. Trying to burst Spectre down during a Berserker's Call is a disaster waiting to happen. Her Dispersion reflects a huge amount of damage back onto Axe and any of his teammates hitting her, especially if Counter Helix is also spinning. This fundamental interaction makes it incredibly risky for Axe to initiate on the enemy's primary carry, which is usually his main job. He's forced into a passive role or has to find a less important target, giving Spectre all the space she needs.

This dynamic means Axe has to win his lane hard and pressure the map before Spectre gets her key items. If the game goes late, Axe's options become grim. He can't jump on Spectre without his own team dying in the process, and Spectre can use Haunt to bypass him entirely and kill his backline. Axe is effectively forced to ignore the enemy carry, which is a losing game. The only real plan for Axe is to snowball with his team and end the game early, before Spectre's passive damage reflection becomes too much to handle.
