How this matchup plays

Holding Fiend's Grip for Drow Ranger seems like a foolproof plan, but it rarely works out that cleanly. The entire interaction comes down to whether Drow can land her silence before Bane can finish channeling his ultimate. If Bane gets caught at the edge of a fight, Drow’s Gust will interrupt him from a safe distance, leaving him exposed. On the other hand, Drow Ranger is extremely fragile. If Bane or his team can lock her down for even a moment, a full Fiend's Grip is usually enough to secure the kill. It’s a standoff where the first hero to misstep often dies.

This tension defines the matchup from the mid-game onward. A successful Drow will play far behind her front line, using her team as a shield while she chips away at Bane's allies. She relies on them to find and interrupt Bane before he can become a threat. For Bane, the goal is to find a flank or use smoke to get a clean initiation on Drow.
