Bane vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Picking Bane into Phantom Assassin creates a clear timing challenge for both teams. Bane excels at controlling a single hero, and Fiend's Grip is a long-duration disable that's perfect for holding down a slippery target. Nightmare can also interrupt her Phantom Strike or save an ally she jumps on. Even Enfeeble can be surprisingly effective, reducing her damage output when she's trying to crit someone down. The entire game for Phantom Assassin becomes about surviving until she can buy a Black King Bar.

Once she has that BKB, the matchup often flips. She can activate it to block Fiend's Grip, jump on Bane, and kill him before he can react. The game becomes a tense battle of positioning and cooldowns. Early on, Bane can make PA's life very difficult, but later, Phantom Assassin actively hunts him as a primary target. It forces Bane to play from the shadows and rely on his team, while PA has to decide if it's worth using her BKB just to kill him or save it for a bigger target.
