Bane vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Thinking Bane can simply lock down and kill Zeus is a common trap. While Fiend's Grip is an excellent tool for holding a single target, Zeus often has enough backup or has already unloaded his spells before getting caught. A channeled ultimate makes Bane a stationary target, vulnerable to the rest of Zeus's team collapsing on him. If Bane uses his grip on a different priority hero, Zeus is free to punish him from a safe distance with high magic damage, creating a standoff where the initiator is often at equal risk.

The game becomes about vision and positioning. Bane's entire plan revolves around getting the jump on Zeus, often with a Blink Dagger, to remove him before a fight starts. A successful pick-off on Zeus can neutralize a huge source of damage. In response, Zeus wins by staying on the edges of the map, using his global ultimate to contribute from safety, and avoiding a direct confrontation. He wants to force Bane to use his spells defensively, leaving him exposed to a quick burst of lightning.
