Beastmaster vs Witch Doctor

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map with an army of summons becomes a huge liability for Beastmaster. The core problem is Paralyzing Cask, which loves to see a hero surrounded by other units. Witch Doctor can get multiple, long-duration stuns on Beastmaster by bouncing the cask between him and his boar or hawk. This setup is often a death sentence, as it guarantees Witch Doctor can land a full Maledict and channel Death Ward on a target that can’t run away. The very summons Beastmaster uses for vision and pressure become the tools of his own demise.

This makes any objective attempt a nightmare. Trying to push a tower or take Roshan requires Beastmaster to group with his team and summons, creating the perfect scenario for Witch Doctor to turn the fight. Beastmaster is forced to build his game around getting a Black King Bar and hoping to catch the Witch Doctor out of position, which is a difficult task. Otherwise, he can’t apply the pressure his team needs, ceding map control and letting the game slip away while his opponent waits for the next perfect Cask.
