How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Doom's ultimate usually spells the end of a hero's involvement in a fight. Against an Oracle, however, there's a powerful answer. False Promise can be cast on the doomed target, delaying all incoming damage and creating a window for allies to apply healing. If the healing is enough to offset the damage from Doom, the target can survive an otherwise certain death. On a smaller scale, Oracle's Fortune's End can also purge away Doom's Scorched Earth, making him less threatening and easier to kite.

This core interaction forces a specific mind game in teamfights. The Doom player has to decide whether to try and kill a target through the False Promise healing, or simply focus Oracle first. Landing Doom on Oracle himself effectively removes the save from the equation and often wins the fight. This means Oracle has to play from a safe position, while Doom needs good vision and initiation to get the jump. Because Oracle's kit directly undermines Doom's primary function, it makes his game plan less reliable, which can tilt things slightly in Oracle’s favor.
