How this matchup plays

Choosing between these two carries often comes down to what kind of damage your team needs. Drow Ranger provides immense single-target burst with Marksmanship, letting her melt a priority hero from a distance. The catch is that her ultimate deactivates if an enemy hero gets close. Medusa functions differently, relying on Mana Shield to absorb huge amounts of punishment while her Split Shot wears down the entire enemy team at once. This creates a standoff where Drow wants to quickly delete a target, but Medusa is one of the hardest targets to delete.

The fight often hinges on which team can control the engagement distance. Drow Ranger’s side needs to create space and keep enemies away so Marksmanship stays active. Medusa’s team wants to do the opposite: charge forward and force a close-quarters brawl. Stone Gaze is a primary tool for this, as it can stop Drow's team from kiting back and allow Medusa's allies to close the gap. If Drow can't maintain her spacing, she loses her biggest damage source and usually the fight.
