How this matchup plays

Catching Drow Ranger is all about closing the distance, and Io's Relocate is one of the best tools for the job. By bringing a core right on top of her, Io can instantly disable Drow's Marksmanship and leave her exposed. A carry that wants to fight from a distance has a hard time when an enemy suddenly appears next to her. However, Io itself is extremely fragile and has no lockdown of its own. If the initial burst from its relocated ally isn't enough, Drow Ranger can easily turn the fight with a Gust and start kiting her attackers.

The outcome of this matchup depends heavily on who Io is tethering and the state of the game. If Io has a partner with reliable stuns, they can make Drow's life difficult from the mid-game onward. But if Io's cores lack lockdown, Drow can often play around the threat with good vision and positioning. She can even punish a failed gank, as Io and its ally are often isolated after using Relocate. It becomes a game of vision control and reaction time, where either hero can create the winning play.
