Ember Spirit vs Witch Doctor

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a target with Sleight of Fist often puts Ember Spirit in a difficult position against Witch Doctor. The bounce from Paralyzing Cask can easily find Ember inside a creep wave or group of heroes, and a stun is all it takes to lock him down. Even if Ember Spirit escapes with Fire Remnant, a Maledict placed on him beforehand means he's likely to die moments later, no matter how far he gets. While Flame Guard can absorb some magic damage, it doesn't prevent the stun or the final burst from Maledict that makes his escape plan much less reliable.

This dynamic forces the Ember player to be more deliberate. Instead of initiating freely, he has to play around the Witch Doctor's position, either waiting for those key spells to be used or trying to isolate and kill the doctor before he can react. The Witch Doctor's goal is to stay behind his cores and hold his abilities for the moment Ember commits. A single good Cask can halt an aggressive push, and landing Maledict forces Ember to either retreat from the fight entirely or risk dying after he thinks he's safe.
