Enigma vs Witch Doctor

How this matchup plays

Landing a game-winning Black Hole against Witch Doctor revolves entirely around spell immunity. If Enigma can activate his BKB before channeling, Paralyzing Cask will not interrupt him. Without that BKB, however, a single Cask bouncing through the fight can easily stop his ultimate from a safe distance. This core interaction turns teamfights into a tense standoff. Witch Doctor wants to hold his stun for the perfect moment, while Enigma has to decide if he can risk channeling without immunity, or if he needs to commit his big defensive item first.

This dynamic makes the mid-to-late game about vision and initiation. Enigma will often try to find a flank or jump from the fog to catch Witch Doctor before he can react. In response, Witch Doctor needs to position himself carefully at the back of his team, ready to counter-initiate. Even if Enigma gets his Black Hole off with a BKB, Witch Doctor can still drop a Death Ward to try and burst him down during the channel. The outcome really comes down to which player has better positioning and executes their combo first.
