Gyrocopter vs Monkey King

How this matchup plays

Trying to control the fight's distance is central to Gyrocopter's plan, but Monkey King's Tree Dance makes this difficult. It gives Monkey King the option to either jump in to force a brawl or leap away to dodge Rocket Barrage and Homing Missile. This constant threat forces Gyrocopter into a more reactive role, as he can't easily kite or set up his spell combos. Since Monkey King can often dictate the range of engagement, he holds a persistent, small advantage in trades and skirmishes, preventing Gyrocopter from comfortably playing his own game.

This pattern continues across the match. Gyrocopter has to be very careful about his positioning, as Monkey King is always a threat from the trees. In teamfights, Gyro wants to hit everyone with Flak Cannon, but he becomes an easy target if Wukong's Command is used on his position. For Gyrocopter to succeed, his team needs to provide excellent protection and lockdown. Meanwhile, Monkey King's goal is much simpler: wait for a brief opening, then jump on the vulnerable target in the back.
