Huskar vs Shadow Shaman

How this matchup plays

Trying to fight at low health is Huskar's entire game plan, and it's a massive liability against Shadow Shaman. After a Life Break, Huskar expects to be a terrifying force, but he is instead a prime target for Hex or Shackles. Both spells provide more than enough lockdown for a team to finish him off while he's helpless and can't benefit from his regeneration. Even if he survives the initial disable, getting trapped in Mass Serpent Ward is often a death sentence. Shadow Shaman has too many reliable ways to hold Huskar still and punish him for using his ultimate.

The entire game revolves around Huskar's Black King Bar timing. He needs it to even think about fighting, but Shadow Shaman can often force the BKB early with one disable and then use another once it expires. This puts all the pressure on the Huskar player to find and burst the Shaman before his BKB runs out, which is difficult against good positioning. For the Shadow Shaman, the plan is to stay safe, wait for the Life Break, and then use long-duration lockdown to turn Huskar's aggression into a free kill for the team.
