Huskar vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Huskar with magic damage gets harder the more you commit, which is the core of Storm Spirit's problem. Storm's entire damage combo is magical, and Huskar's magic resistance skyrockets as his health drops. When Huskar uses Life Break, he forces a fight at a range where his Burning Spears are most effective. Storm Spirit can use Ball Lightning to get away, but the slow from Life Break makes it a very expensive escape, and Huskar is often tanky enough to survive the initial burst and keep hitting back.

This dynamic forces Storm Spirit to play a game of avoidance. He can't really man-fight a Huskar at most stages of the game. Instead, Storm needs to focus on picking off supports and building items that offer hard disable, like a Scythe of Vyse, so his team can burst Huskar before his passives get out of control. Huskar's plan is simpler: get in Storm's face. If Huskar can control the map and repeatedly force fights, he prevents Storm from farming the items and finding the isolated kills he needs to be effective.
