Trying to save an ally from Lich's burst damage is what defines this matchup for Oracle. False Promise can absorb the full impact of a Chain Frost, and a well-timed Fate's Edict can make a key hero completely immune to Lich's magic damage. Oracle can even dispel the slows from Frost Blast with his Fortune's End. However, Lich’s spells are instant, and he can sometimes secure a kill before Oracle has a chance to react. Sinister Gaze also provides lockdown that can hold a hero in place while Oracle is busy elsewhere, and the defensive value from Frost Shield is something Oracle has no direct way to remove.
