How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by a Lion is a constant worry for Templar Assassin. His Hex provides an instant lockdown that bypasses her Refraction, leaving her completely exposed to follow-up damage from his team. Even if she survives the initial burst, a single Mana Drain can empty her small mana pool, preventing her from using Meld to escape or using her own spells to fight back. This direct assault on both her defensive layer and her ability to cast spells makes Lion a persistent threat she has to account for at all times.

Still, the advantage isn't overwhelming. Templar Assassin can play around Lion's position on the map, focusing on farming lanes he isn't in. She often builds items like a Blink Dagger for better positioning or a Black King Bar to ignore his disables entirely, turning the tables on him. If she gets the jump, Lion is a fragile target who will fall quickly to her high physical damage. The game becomes a contest of vision and initiation where Lion has the right tools to catch her, but a well-played Templar Assassin has clear ways to evade the trap.
