Luna vs Medusa

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a target with Eclipse often puts Luna in a bad spot against Medusa. The moment Luna gets close and commits her ultimate, Medusa can respond with Stone Gaze. This forces Luna's player to choose between turning away and wasting the damage, or getting petrified and likely dying. Even without her ultimate, Medusa's Mana Shield is effective at absorbing the mixed damage from Luna's glaives and Lucent Beams, making it difficult for Luna to secure a kill on her at any stage of the game.

This dynamic gives Medusa a small advantage as the game progresses. While Luna can hit a strong power spike earlier and try to pressure the map, she struggles to break high ground against a farmed Medusa. Luna needs to end the game during her mid-game window or find Medusa out of position without her team. If the game goes late, Medusa's ability to stand her ground, absorb Luna's full combo, and fight back with Split Shot tends to be more reliable in a full five-on-five engagement.
