Medusa vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

A Medusa using Split Shot in a teamfight will often hit Spectre, even unintentionally. This means Medusa is constantly taking reflected damage from Dispersion, which goes through Mana Shield and eats at her actual health pool. This constant drain adds up in the long fights Medusa wants to take. Spectre can also use Haunt to bypass the front line and create chaos in the back, disrupting the grouped formation that Medusa needs to protect herself and deal damage safely. It forces Medusa's team to react rather than execute their own plan.

Medusa’s goal is to out-farm Spectre and use that item advantage to push with her team and end the game. A successful game for her involves her team playing tight, protecting her from being isolated, and enabling her to hit towers. Spectre, on the other hand, is happy to play for the late game. She can afford a slower start, knowing Haunt lets her join fights from anywhere and that her damage reflection only gets better as Medusa gets more farm. The matchup often hinges on whether Medusa can close out the game on her timing.
