How this matchup plays

Committing with a Snowball onto Medusa can feel like a trap. Tusk wants to get in close to apply his burst and control, but doing so puts him right in the ideal range for Stone Gaze. A well-timed Gaze can turn his aggression against him, leaving him stunned and vulnerable. Even if he lands his spells, much of Tusk's initial burst damage is absorbed by Mana Shield, making it very difficult for him to secure a solo kill on her at any stage of the game. This creates a standoff where he can’t easily initiate on her and she doesn’t have the tools to chase and kill him.

The matchup often comes down to teamwork. Tusk’s job is to enable his own cores by catching Medusa out of position, ideally with allies who can burn her mana or follow up his initiation with more damage. If they can coordinate ganks and shut her down before she gets her key items, they can control the map. Medusa’s game plan is to farm safely and use Stone Gaze as a defensive tool to escape these attempts. Once she's farmed, she can largely ignore Tusk in teamfights and focus on shredding his team with Split Shot.
