Monkey King vs Morphling

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Morphling with Jingu Mastery stacks often falls flat. Monkey King relies on that quick sequence of attacks to secure a kill, but Morphling can react by shifting into Strength, gaining a massive amount of health to survive the damage. This fundamentally disrupts Monkey King's core combo. Even if Monkey King commits his ultimate, Morphling can frequently tank the initial hits and then use Waveform to get out of the circle. This survivability makes it very difficult for Monkey King to find the clean kill he’s looking for.

This dynamic forces Monkey King to change his entire approach. He can't simply jump on Morphling and expect to win. He either needs to buy a specific item like a Scythe of Vyse to lock Morphling down before he can shift, or wait for him to be silenced or out of mana. This makes Morphling a much more awkward target than most. Meanwhile, Morphling can usually play his game, knowing he has a built-in defense for Monkey King's main threat, which gives him a small but consistent edge in skirmishes and teamfights.
