Monkey King vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Getting caught in the trees is a death sentence for Monkey King here. His entire game plan revolves around mobility, surprise, and his Tree Dance ability. Venomancer dismantles that with a constant barrage of damage-over-time effects from his spells and attacks. A single tick of poison is enough to reveal Monkey King's position, preventing him from escaping or setting up an attack. The slows that come with these poisons also make it impossible for him to stick to a target or retreat once he commits, completely neutralizing his typical hit-and-run style.

This dynamic gets worse as the game goes on. When Monkey King creates his Wukong's Command circle, he’s creating the perfect arena for Venomancer to use Poison Nova. Instead of a fortress, the ring becomes a trap where Monkey King and his soldiers are kited and melted by poison. To have any chance, he needs to get a Black King Bar and hope its duration is long enough for a solo kill. Venomancer, meanwhile, can play defensively, using his slows to peel for his team and punishing any aggression from a hero whose core identity he fundamentally counters.
