Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Phantom Lancer wins the Phantom Lancer vs Shadow Shaman matchup: Phantom Lancer beats Shadow Shaman in 54.29% of 89,905 ranked matches.
Picking Shadow Shaman early can leave your team very vulnerable to a last-pick Phantom Lancer. Shadow Shaman's whole game plan struggles to find value here. His single-target lockdown from Hex and Shackles is unreliable against an army of illusions, and even if he catches the real hero, the illusion pressure continues. More importantly, Mass Serpent Ward, a core part of his teamfight impact, gets completely overrun and destroyed by Phantom Lancer's illusions in moments. Doppelganger provides an easy escape from the initial disable, leaving Shaman exposed. Lacking any real area-of-effect damage to clear the swarm, Shadow Shaman can't effectively control fights or defend towers against a growing PL.
