Windranger vs Witch Doctor

How this matchup plays

Trying to use Windrun to escape feels awful when Maledict is ticking away. Windranger's main defensive tool gives evasion, but that does nothing against the curse's periodic damage or the final burst. Witch Doctor can often land the spell easily, especially if he gets a Paralyzing Cask bounce to stun her first. Even a short stun is enough time to apply Maledict and set up for his ultimate. Windranger relies on being evasive and hard to kill, and Witch Doctor's kit directly bypasses her primary method of survival.

Laning against Witch Doctor is a constant threat, as a single misstep can lead to a quick death for Windranger. Later on, her game plan of finding a pickoff with Shackleshot and Focus Fire gets complicated by Death Ward. She doesn't have a good way to stop the channel or survive its damage, especially if she's already cursed by Maledict. Her single-target focus struggles to deal with the huge teamfight presence Witch Doctor brings, forcing her to play from the edges where her impact is limited.
