Abaddon vs Huskar

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can burst down Abaddon is a common mistake against him. Huskar thrives by getting his targets low and keeping them there with Burning Spears, but this plays directly into Abaddon's hands. Committing with Life Break often brings Abaddon into the exact health range to trigger Borrowed Time, turning all of Huskar's follow-up damage into healing. On top of that, a well-timed Aphotic Shield completely purges the spear stacks, resetting Huskar’s damage and forcing him to start over from scratch.

This makes the matchup miserable for Huskar from the mid-game onwards. He wants to be the aggressor, but he can't initiate on Abaddon without killing himself, and he can't reliably kill anyone Abaddon is protecting. His usual strategy of diving the back line is completely nullified by a single hero's defensive kit. Huskar is forced to either try and bait out the ultimate and then run away for its duration, or ignore Abaddon entirely, which is rarely an option. Abaddon doesn't have to hunt Huskar; he simply ruins his game by existing.
