Ancient Apparition vs Oracle

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a high-stakes game around their ultimates. Ancient Apparition's Ice Blast completely shuts down all healing, which is the main way Oracle saves an ally under False Promise. If a hero is affected by both, they take all the delayed damage at the end but get none of the doubled healing, which is almost always a guaranteed kill. This makes Ice Blast a direct counter to the most powerful aspect of Oracle's kit. However, Oracle isn't helpless; his short-cooldown dispel can remove Cold Feet, and he can use Fate's Edict to protect an ally from initial magic damage.

The matchup often comes down to which support outplays the other in teamfights. The Ancient Apparition player is waiting for that one perfect ultimate on a key target, forcing Oracle to either let them die or use a neutered False Promise. In response, the Oracle player has to anticipate this. They might try to use their ultimate before the Ice Blast projectile connects, or focus on keeping their team spread out to make a good shot difficult.
