Huskar vs Phantom Lancer

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can run down Phantom Lancer with a strong duelist is a classic trap. Huskar excels at melting a single hero, but PL's entire kit counters this. Every attack from Huskar just risks creating more Juxtapose illusions, and he has no effective way to clear them. Burning Spears simply don't apply fast enough to burn down a swarm of fakes, and he quickly gets overwhelmed trying to find the real one. Phantom Lancer's Doppelganger is a huge problem, as it lets him dodge Life Break or shed the spear damage, leaving Huskar stranded and surrounded.

This matchup gets progressively worse for Huskar as the game goes on. He might have a brief window to bully the lane, but once Phantom Lancer gets his core items, he can't be safely jumped. Huskar is forced to commit his ultimate on what could easily be an illusion, only to be drained of mana and cut down by the swarm. His usual strategy of fighting at low health for maximum power backfires completely, as the illusions will finish him off easily. He becomes entirely reliant on his team for area damage, while PL takes over the map.
