Yamato — Deadlock Win Rate, Counters & Synergies

Yamato in Deadlock: win rate, pick rate, top counters and best teammates, from Batru's recent-match pipeline.

Yamato counters & matchups

Squishy carries who need to hold a position suffer against Yamato, which is why Sinclair, Mina, and Paradox struggle to answer her sword dive. Her power spike comes from gap-closing straight onto their backline before they can set up, and her sword slash pressures them out of lane before they get items online. Where she stumbles is against sustained, self-sufficient duelists. Seven, Victor, and Graves can trade back through her aggression and punish her when her escape is on cooldown, turning her dive into a bad fight. Draft tip: pick her into immobile, positional heroes, and avoid her into strong solo bruisers.

Yamato synergies

Yamato wants a partner who capitalizes on the chaos she creates when she dives in and forces the enemy to scatter. Seven fits this well, since his heavy area burst lands cleanly once Yamato has pinned the enemy team and stopped them from spreading out. She opens the fight and holds targets in place, and he collects the follow-up damage before they recover. What she brings is the initiation and target focus that lets a slower damage dealer like Seven pick his moment instead of forcing it.
